Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is creeping up quickly on us. and now is the time to give thanks for all the things in life we have to be grateful for most notably family and friends. Giving a card is a very simple gesture, but often a handmade card goes a long way in someone's heart. Here are some handmade paper goodies to pass along to one of those we love and give thanks for.

June's Alexandrite

Here we celebrate June's birthstone - Alexandrite. The most sensational feature about the stone Alexandrite is its surprising ability to change its color. Green or bluish-green in daylight, Alexandrite turns a soft shade of red, purplish-red or raspberry red in incandescent light. This unique optical characteristic makes it one of the most valuable gemstones of all, especially in fine qualities. Here we explore this wonderful stone and its many colors with a variety of supplies for the artist. Enjoy!

If so, there are some supplies and a couple of great reference links on how to get started in scrapbooking and a how-to make gift tags. Either way you decide to go, buy or supply, enjoy your handcraftedness.

Eco Friendly, Recycled and Upcycled

I am totally loving the recycling of materials and making something new and fantastic out of something old and/or discarded. When people take these old, unused or discarded objects and recycle them into something new turning them from trash to treasure, it not only helps our environment, but makes for some great fashion finds!
